Joe Hachem Makes History at 2006 Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship

Joe Hachem etched his name in poker history books when he won the 2006 Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship on December 20th, 2006. Hachem is only the fourth player to win both a world series of poker (WSOP) Main Event and a world poker tour (WPT) title.

The 2006 Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship served as the grounds where records would be made. It served as the venue where Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi would be named Card Player's 2006 Player of the Year. The $2.1 million for-the-first-place event also featured Hachem along with daniel negreanu looking to add records in their careers.

Negreanu successfully made it to the final table and he only needed to place fifth in order to pass Tuan Le as the all time World Poker Tour money winner.

The Bellagio Twin Tower Ballroom was overflowing with poker players, press and spectators, not to mention those who were still queuing outside. The 2006 Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship final table took place at 5 p.m.

The final table chip count was: 1. Daniel Negreanu - $4,670,000 (seat 1) 2. Mads Andersen - $4,310,000 (seat 6) 3. joe hachem - $2,345,000 (seat 3) 4. Edward Jordan - $2,320,000 (seat 5) 5. David Redlin - $2,040,000 (seat 4) 6. Jim Hanna - $1,820,000 (seat 2)
